Nigerian singer and songwriter Amaeya announces the release of her new single “BE,” out July 3, 2026. The record marks a bold and deliberate evolution in Amaeya’s artistry — a full step into Afro House, fusing dancefloor energy with her signature emotive vocals and the kind of hook that refuses to leave.
“BE MY BABY FOR LIFE. AND I GO BE YOUR BABY FOR LIFE O.” The chorus is a declaration, not just a hook. Pidgin-inflected and irresistibly repetitive, it lands as both a love song and a movement — built for bodies and hearts in equal measure.
Born Peace Chidinma Amaefula and raised in Delta State, Amaeya is now based in Lagos, where she has been building quietly and deliberately toward this moment. She moved to Lagos to pursue music full-time, spending her early years cutting her teeth as a backing vocalist for some of Nigeria’s biggest names — Tems, Tiwa Savage, Asake, Ric Hassani, Show Dem Camp, and Lojay — absorbing the craft from the inside out before stepping fully into her own light.
Her profile rose sharply when she appeared on the critically acclaimed Son of Chike album, featuring on “One Day” alongside Olamide. Her debut single “On My Own” announced her as a solo force, and her debut EP Like A Flower (2024) cemented that promise. OkayAfrica named her one of 12 African Artists to Watch in 2025, describing her voice as “like a light switch — illuminating and surprising.” Spotify featured her in their Women of Afrobeats editorial as one of the new voices redefining what Nigerian music can look like.
“BE” is Amaeya’s most confident move yet. Where her earlier work established her as one of Nigerian R&B’s most gifted voices, this single positions her as something broader — a crossover artist with the instinct to move between genres without losing the emotional core that makes her music resonate. Afro House is the next frontier for the sound, and Amaeya is arriving on her own terms.
