Native Magazine Presents Live Showcase For Best New Artists In Lagos

NATIVE Magazine presents uNder Live, a bi-monthly showcase of the most exciting emerging artists on the continent.

8 years ago, The NATIVE started on its core mission to reshape the face of the mainstream by illuminating and championing the youth of Africa, whilst protecting the core of the uNderground. This led to the birth of a monthly column, uNder, which spotlights the best and most exciting new artists on the scene.

Staying true to The NATIVE’s mission to reshape the face of African popular culture, uNder is a celebration of African artists who create without fear of boundaries and the perception of what African music should sound like. Some of these artists have dropped projects which many are familiar with, while others are still finding their feet and discovering their sounds. Either way, you want to be paying attention.

On Thursday March 28th, in partnership with Human Re Sources, NATIVE Magazine is bringing this monthly column to life with a live showcase at MILIKI, Lagos.

uNder Live!

One of the biggest problems in music on the continent right now is the lack of opportunities for underground artists to perform live and gain experience.
To solve this, we are launching uNder Live! – a bi-monthly showcase of the most exciting emerging artists on the continent.

The first show will be in LAGOS, the epicentre of Afro-Pop, on Thursday March 28th.

About Human Re Sources

Formed in 2016, by J Erving and sold to Sony Music in 2020 for a multi-million dollar deal. Human Re Sources is a company built at the intersection of culture and technology whose roster has included YBN Nahmir, YBN Cordae, Brent Faiyaz, Pink Sweat$, Baby Rose, Bren Joy, Damian Lillard, RAYE and more. After inking their first distribution deal with Spotify, the company has garnered over 2.5 billion streams across their roster. In 2019, the company was ranked among the top 10 independent distributors in the industry and has been widely recognized for being an independent powerhouse of talent development.

Human Re Sources is all about moving the culture. Erving put together a team of young, renegade, borderline rebellious, disruptive people of color who are engulfed in the culture, and work to move it in a real way. Our goal is to support artists who are looking to move more independently.
