THISIS NXTUP Returns with JUJUTHECHARM on New Single “Liquor,”
Nigerian collaborative music platform THISIS NXTUP returns with “Liquor,” a vibrant new single featuring singer, rapper and performer JUJUTHECHARM. The release marks another chapter in the platform’s evolving creative journey, bringing together its commitment to musical collaboration and JUJUTHECHARM’s expressive artistry for a playful celebration of freedom, confidence and living in the moment.
Built around an infectious, repetitive hook and a carefree atmosphere, “Liquor” captures the excitement of enjoying life without reservations. With lyrics that paint pictures of private yacht parties, spontaneous celebrations and unapologetic self-expression, JUJUTHECHARM delivers a confident, personality-driven performance. The song’s recurring refrain, “Imma need some liquor in my cup,” anchors a record that embraces independence, pleasure and the freedom to create your own good time.
For JUJUTHECHARM, “Liquor” adds another dimension to an evolving catalogue that began with her 2022 single “You.” Since then, she has explored different musical expressions through releases including “Today Today,” “RUN LOW/WHISKEY DEEP,” “Take Me High” and “Vibrations.” Her versatility as a singer, rapper and performer continues to shape an artistic identity rooted in confidence, individuality and creative exploration. On “Liquor,” those qualities take centre stage, giving the record its distinctive personality and infectious energy.
The collaboration also reflects the ongoing evolution of THISIS NXTUP, whose origins are rooted in discovering and creating opportunities for emerging musical talent. In 2023, the platform organised the NXT UP Talent Hunt in Benin City, Edo State, bringing aspiring artists together for an initiative designed to spotlight emerging voices and provide opportunities for artistic development. Since then, NXTUP has continued to expand its vision beyond talent discovery into collaborative music creation.
Unlike a conventional solo act or fixed musical group, THISIS NXTUP operates as a shared recording identity, connecting artists, producers, songwriters and other creatives to develop music across different sounds and perspectives. Its previous catalogue includes collaborations with Xannto on “Home” and BoyyRazzy on records including “Balance,” “To Be Heard” and “Don’t Waste My Time (DWMT),” establishing a foundation for its growing collaborative approach.
With “Liquor,” THISIS NXTUP continues to build on that foundation, creating room for JUJUTHECHARM’s individuality to shine while introducing listeners to another expression of the platform’s musical direction. The release represents both a celebration of artistic freedom and a continuation of NXTUP’s wider ambition to connect creative talents through meaningful collaborations.
As THISIS NXTUP enters this new phase, “Liquor” serves as a reminder of the platform’s central philosophy: bringing different creative voices together to make music that connects with audiences while allowing individual artistry to remain at the forefront.
‘Liquor’ by THISIS NXTUP featuring JUJUTHECHARM is out now on all major digital streaming platforms.
