Nigeria and Jamaica Collide On Focus Single From Ruger’s New Album ‘BlownBoy Ru’

To mark the release of his highly anticipated sophomore album, ‘BlownBoy Ru’ on March 28th, and following his recent viral COLORS performance, Ruger (MOBO 2025 nominee and Spotify ‘Artist To Watch 2025’), shares the lead single from the LP, this time linking Jamaica’s Kranium on ‘DuDu’, as the pair deliver the party starting
afro-dancehall anthem.

Featuring both artists and a cameo from 1Xtra DJ Remi Burgz—who recently hosted Ruger for a performance of his 2024 hit ‘Toma Toma’ in the 1Xtra Live Lounge—the ‘DuDu’ music video (out 4th April) brings the track to life under the direction of acclaimed UK duo Meeks & Frost (Little Simz, J Hus). Set in the heart of a vibrant club, the visuals capture Ruger lost in the dancefloor energy while Jamaican artist Kranium holds court over a game of dominoes next door. Speaking of the collab, Ruger says: “Kranium is a vibe; he understands melodies in a way that makes everything sound so smooth!”

From April, Ruger will head out on a massive US & EU tour, performing at iconic venues like Philadelphia’s Brooklyn Bowl, Thalia Hall in Chicago, Brussels’ Ancienne Belgique, and Vienna’s Hallmann Dome. In September, he returns to the UK a year after his sold-out show at the Outernet, with headline dates at Manchester’s O2 Ritz, Birmingham’s O2 Institute, and London’s Indigo at The O2. See all dates below.

‘DuDu’, the new single from Ruger and Kranium, is the final single to come from Ruger’s keenly awaited second album, BlownBoy Ru, which is released on March 28th via Promised Land Records and is set to solidify his position as one of the globe’s most in-demand African artists.
