Candy Bleakz Brings Street Euphoria To Life On TRABZ

Hustle. Grit. These are the themes that form the architecture of Candy Bleakz’s artistry. On her latest single, Trabz,” the rapper doubles down on everything that has made her one of the most distinct voices on the Nigerian street-pop spectrum.

Trabz” is an ingenious reinvention of the popular Nigerian-Yoruba slang “Trabaye,” a phrase deeply rooted in the language of victory, enjoyment, and well-earned flexing. Built on a high-tempo mara rhythm, the record pulls listeners into the euphoria of winning, celebration, and unapologetic enjoyment. “Trabz” arrives with the DNA of a street anthem. It is a soundtrack for celebratory moments, late-night energy, and the triumphant release that follows survival, hustle, and success.

The single follows the momentum of her January release, “Adura,” featuring Segun Johnson, which showcased another dimension of her sonic identity. Where “Adura” leaned into gratitude and aspiration, “Trabz” lives in the afterglow,  the moment where hard work translates into enjoyment.

On the track, Candy Bleakz once again reinforces a recurring motif in her music: money as motivation, success as adrenaline, and enjoyment as a deserved reward. It is a perspective that mirrors the realities of her core audience, ambitious, relentless, and hungry for moments of escape.

Dubbed the “Queen of the Streets,” Candy Bleakz is one of Nigeria’s most compelling street-hop voices, celebrated for her sharp pen, gritty delivery, and undeniable authenticity. Born Blessing Akiode on August 5, 1999, her journey into music began in the church choir before a school talent competition ignited her pursuit of music as a career. Her rise accelerated in 2016 after winning Lagos Got Talent, a moment that led to her discovery by MI Abaga and her subsequent signing to Chocolate City under the Street Billionaires imprint. She went on to make history as part of the indigenous Yoruba hip-hop group, releasing fan-favorite records and earning acclaim following standout performances, including at Felabration in honor of Fela Anikulapo Kuti.

Her career has since seen exponential growth: recognition from Google and the Recording Academy, viral hits, high-profile collaborations, and millions of streams across projects like Fire EP. With standout records alongside artists such as Naira Marley, Zlatan Ibile, Simi, and Terry Apala, Candy Bleakz continues to cement her place as a defining voice for hustlers, dreamers, and the streets she represents.
