Emerging Nigerian Producer and artist Kwosa Mayor has officially released his much-anticipated debut album titled “Divergent”, a 9-track body of work that boldly traverses genres and emotions while celebrating the richness of African sound.
The album lives up to its name — Divergent — showcasing Kwosa’s fearless versatility as he blends Amapiano’s deep basslines, Afrofusion’s soulful rhythm, and Afrobeats’ irresistible energy into a cohesive soundscape that feels both experimental and grounded.
Kwosa Mayor enlists a diverse lineup of collaborators from across the continent, including Viktoh (former YBNL signee) on the street anthem “Money,” South African artists Shashi and B.Nolo, and Nigerian rising acts Boy Muller and TheFeyiii. Each feature adds a unique layer to the project’s narrative, reflecting the collaborative spirit of modern African music.
Speaking on the project, Kwosa Mayor describes Divergent as “a reflection of who I am — not confined to one sound or story. Every track is a different mood, a different side of me.”
From the club-ready bounce of “Go Crazy” to the reflective tone of “Imali” the album balances introspection with dancefloor appeal. Tracks like “Money” featuring Viktoh tap into the hustle mindset and economic realities of young Africans chasing success, while songs like “Binya” and “Wait” showcase Kwosa’s softer, melodic side.

“Divergent” isn’t just an introduction — it’s a declaration. It marks the arrival of a new-generation artist intent on pushing boundaries and telling African stories through globally appealing sounds.
