Son Of Chike: A Celebration Of Heritage And Growth

Renowned Nigerian pop/soul artist Chike unveils his highly anticipated third studio album, “Son of Chike,” two years after his critically acclaimed project, “The Brother’s Keeper.”

Inspired by his family legacy and artistic evolution, “Son of Chike” is a 12-track exploration of Chike’s cultural roots and a celebration of his family name, Osebuka. The album title signifies his identity as his father’s son and an artist building on his past works. It’s a tribute to the human experience, navigating the complexities of
relationships and personal growth.

Written by Chike, and produced by longtime collaborator DeeYasso (known for working with Oxlade, Dave, and Wande Coal), the album features guest appearances from industry heavyweights like Olamide, Qing Madi, Ladipoe, Amaeya,, and the late Mohbad. “Son of Chike” explores themes of self-discovery, love, resilience, family heritage, and the beauty of life, all delivered with Chike’s signature evocative storytelling and rich musical arrangements.

Led by the celebratory and already chart-topping single “Egwu” featuring the late Mohbad (with over 250 million global streams), “Son of Chike” opens with a powerful statement. Tracks like “Unto You” with Ladipoe emphasize staying true to oneself, while “Lifetime Love” and “Apple” explore love’s complexities. The album showcases Chike’s cultural pride in “Ego Oyibo” and celebrates his heritage in “Mma (Beauty).” With “Someone,” Chike offers introspection on unfulfilled promises, followed by a message of moving on in “Your Loss” featuring Qing Madi. “Not Your Daddy” is a declaration of independence, and “Balance Am” seeks harmony amidst life’s
challenges. The album concludes with the powerful ballad “Man Not God,” a call for humility and gratitude, leaving a lasting impression.
