Delta State’s Blaise Returns With New Single “Delay”

Delta State’s fastest-rising star Blaise has officially dropped his explosive new single “Delay”, a two-track Afro-fusion experience that showcases his dynamic range as both a party-starter and profound storyteller. The release, now available worldwide, captures the essence of modern Nigerian music with its blend of pulsating rhythms and introspective lyricism.

The title track “Delay” emerged from a spontaneous freestyle session in Blaise’s hometown of Asaba, transforming into an instant club banger with its infectious Afro beats and alté influences. “I want listeners to go crazy and have a good time,” says the artist about the high-energy anthem. Its companion piece “My Brother” reveals Blaise’s deeper side, a carefully crafted narrative two months in the making that draws directly from his personal journey. “Every lyric connects to something I’ve lived through,” he explains about the emotionally charged track.

Produced by Nigeria’s hitmaker Ozedikus, the project fuses contemporary Afrobeat with UK underground flavors, creating a signature sound that pays homage to influences like Omah Lay and Wizkid while establishing Blaise’s unique artistic identity. “I know who I am,” declares the confident newcomer, whose music career gained urgency after a life-altering accident left him immobilized for nearly a year. “There’s no better time to chase your dreams than now.”

Fresh off a sold-out hometown show and with rumors of an upcoming four-track EP already generating buzz, Blaise stands poised for international recognition. “Delay” serves as the perfect introduction to an artist who masterfully balances celebration and introspection, inviting listeners to both dance and reflect.
