Taking the first half of the year to focus on other aspects of his business as an entrepreneurial artist, Nigerian alt rap star Inart makes his first official release of the year with a rousing single titled “Sadè Riddim”.
Being an artist that is renowned for a more virile approach to his performances and lyricism, evinced by his last few drops, Inart goes the route of an incessant lover boy on Sadè Riddim, singing his way effortfully into the warm embrace of his love interest. “Sadè” can also be relative. To Inart, Sadè represents an undisclosed romantic accomplice, but he encourages every listener to discover what Sadé means to them individually, using Sadé Riddim as a guide.
Officially released on Friday 25th August 2023, the up-tempo, smoothly percussive Afro-drill record blends with a soothing tone of Inart’s vocals to create a serenading listening experience. He portrays a clingy stance, articulating a strong need for his “chargie”. This representation of love & romance on a Drill record highlights an interesting contrast that expands the thematic possibilities within the genre.
